'The time of the National Steam Gala has arrived on the Waterdown Railway, and all of the engines are excited to be reunited with friends from across The Region. Atlas in particular is excited for the event, but when it's put in jeopardy from an unexpected arrival, Atlas must learn from his past if he is going to help save the railway's future. The final episode of Crossed Lines.'
And here we are. The final episode of Crossed Lines. I never thought I'd actually get to this point at times – and this episode definitely tested my patience and my love for the series.
This is where I tie everything together. I'm pretty sure at least 86% of this links back neatly to older episodes and idea. I feel very happy with how the story concludes. Categorically, I got quite emotional while editing together the final scene together.
This episode also look a lot of pining down storywise, passing through so many drafts. I had started writing this episode at the same time as Nightmares, and so many different elements were placed in then replaced, then rewritten until it reached a place I was proud of.
And now it's done. And there series is done. It's quite bittersweet actually. I've dedicated three or so years of my life chronicling the story of these characters, and while I'm happy they've made their journey, I'm also sad that this will be the last hurrah for them.
At least for now. I feel I've left the series with enough open doors to continue should I want to. But for now, I'm happy leaving it here.
I hope you have enjoyed Crossed Lines as much as I have enjoyed making it. Thanks for watching!
